I think I may have previously used the servers described in your link (which is a current ATT help article). The servers have to deal with the accounting portion of the service in addition to the mail handling and if att and yahoo ever get their act straight and completes the unmerge of att accounts from yahoo accounts (which they are trying to do but botched the job) I don't expect those yahoo servers to accept your email address and password. While yahoo may physically run the servers you are an att customer using att services. I always recommend using the servers documented by the service you are using. I don't expect those yahoo servers to be working forever for att accounts. Ok, but when (not if) your email stops working you know where to look. ATT, please make it easier to find this FAQ!
